Back in the safety of their cage. Lots of time, thought and creativity
goes into creating a pig-worthy environment for Cavvies.

Guinea Pigs, often known in the Pig Community as Cavvies, also make wonderful
pets. Sometimes it can be a challenge to explain their allure to the uninitiated, but
these furry little guys have a charm all their own.

Originating from South America, Guinea Pigs are incredibly sweet, thrive on
human affection, and each has their own distinct personality. They do best with
fellow piggie companionship. In fact, if we thought about it too hard, we'd realize
that our pigs are the most normal pets we have.

We always had Pigs around the house growing up, but six years ago Sandy got
hooked again. The first was when Chippers. It took some coaxing as she was away
at college then. Soon, the whole family fell in love with his outgoing personality.
After Chipper, came Smoltzie, Klessie, Leo, Maddie and Avery. A few weeks
after arriving, Avery gave birth to Stevie. Next was Jonsie and  now Drew and
J.D. round out our Guinea Pig  community. Even though several have gone onto
piggie Heaven, they are still very alive in our hearts.

As some of the pictures hint, our Snowshoes - especially Lacey -  are non-plussed
by the presence of dogs (ho-hum), at ease with our piggies, enjoy hopping around
with the rabbit, and  teasing the ferrets.
